Poppe STATEMENT OF COMMUNION PRACTICE Because those who eat and drink our Lord’s body and blood unworthily do so to their great harm and because Holy Communion is a confession of the faith confessed at this altar, any who are not yet instructed, in doubt, or who hold a confession differing from that of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, and are unable to receive the Sacrament are invited to meditate on God’s Word in the distribution hymns and pray for the day when divisions will have ceased. Our service does not really end, but continues with our Good Friday Tre-Ore service tomorrow at 12:15 pm and our Good Friday Tenebrae service tomorrow at 7:30 pm. These services together prepare us for the Easter Vigil, Saturday at 6:30 pm and the joyous celebration of the Resurrection this Sunday; Sunrise service at 6 am followed by our Easter Divine Service at 8:30 am and 10:30 am. Each of these services will be different and we invite you to worship with us often.) Maundy is from the Latin, mandatum, which means command.
