Worship Folder - August 30, 2009GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN THIRTEENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST Pastor Clint K. Poppe * Pastor Lance D. Berndt STATEMENT OF COMMUNION PRACTICE Because those who eat and drink our Lord’s body and blood unworthily do so to their great harm and because Holy Communion is a confession of the faith confessed at this altar, any who are not yet instructed, in doubt, or who hold a confession differing from that of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, and are unable to receive the Sacrament are invited to meditate on God’s Word in the distribution hymns and pray for the day when divisions will have ceased. If you have any questions regarding our practice, please review the “Fellowship in the Lord’s Supper” brochure or visit with Pastor Poppe, Pastor Berndt, or one of the elders before the service. Christian Education Staff Many of the people who are involved in Christian Education activities at Good Shepherd are volunteers who donate their time and energy. We thank God for all our volunteers. Today these people have the opportunity to rededicate their efforts to teaching God’s Word in their various ministries.
